How to Request a Reference in Reference+

- Click ‘Reference+’ in the left-hand menu. This will take you to the Reference+ Dashboard.

- Find the user for whom you’d like to collect references and click ‘Sendunder the Reference column. 
If there is a triangle on the send button, you have multiple documents of this type. Click the triangle to select the preferred document.

- Administrators have the option to Send References on the Applicant’s Behalf or Prompt the Applicant to Submit Their References.

If you already have the names and email addresses of the applicant’s references, enter them into the top section to send references on the applicant’s behalf. Click ‘+ Add Reference’ to add additional references, clicking ‘+ Add Reference’ again after entering each one.

To collect reference information, input the quantity of each type of reference requested. This will send an email to the applicant requesting the names and email addresses of each reference.

- If you are assigning multiple documents to an individual, you may prefer the applicant only receive one email. You may turn off emails in each document when you send it, and instead send the Dashboard link. This allows the applicant to receive one email to access all items assigned to them.
If you wish to turn off applicant emails for this document, check the box that says ‘Turn off emails.’

- Click the blue ‘Send’ button.

- If the document was sent directly to the reference, you will now see that the status button will change to show the document is ‘Waiting on References.’

If the request for references was sent to the applicant, you will now see that the status button will change to show the document is ‘Waiting on Applicant.’



To perform Administrator action on completed references:

- Once the user has completed their document, the status button will show ‘Ready for Review.’


- An Administrator may now view and take action on the reference document by clicking ‘Ready for Review’, then the name of the reference.

- After viewing, click the gear symbol and choose your action from the drop-down.

If all references are accepted, the status button will change to ‘Completed’ on the Reference+ Dashboard.

If a reference is rejected, the status button will remain ‘Rejected’ on the Reference+ Dashboard until the required number of references have been accepted.

Please Note:
There is a fee of $3 per reference requested, to be billed on monthly invoices.
