How to Create a Document in Reference+

- Click ‘Reference+’ in the left-hand menu.

- Click ‘Document Templates’, then ‘Add Document.’

- Choose whether you would like to create a document from a template or from scratch.

To create a document from a template:

- Select a document type from the dropdown and click to preview the options.

- Select your desired template and click ‘Select template.’

- Customize the document to fit your needs.

- Check the box at the bottom of the screen to indicate the document is complete.

- Click ‘Continue.’

- Select from an email template that has already been created or click ‘New Email Template.’ This is the email that will be sent to your applicant along with the document.

- Select or create an Email Template for Applicants.

- Select or create an Email Template for References, if applicable. This is the email that is sent to your applicant’s references when using a reference template.

- You may select or create an Email Template for Reminders and the reminder expiration date and frequency.

- Click ‘Finish and Send.’

To create a document from scratch:

- Type in a name for the document and select what type of document it will be.

- Create a heading and select ‘Create Document.’  

- Create a message to appear in your document, using the template tags as needed.

- Determine if you would like to require E-Sign Verification and/or upload a PDF.

- Create your questions, if applicable, by clicking the ‘Add Question’ button. You may type your question and select what answer type you prefer.

- Repeat until all questions have been recorded.

- Check the box at the bottom of the screen to indicate the document is complete.

- Click ‘Continue.’

- Select from an Email Template for Applicants that has already been created or click ‘New Email Template.’ This is the email that will be sent to your applicant along with the document.

- Select or create an Email Template for References, if applicable. This is the email that is sent to your applicant’s references when using a reference template.

- You may select or create an Email Template for Reminders and the reminder expiration date and frequency.

- Click ‘Finish and Send.’

- Your document is now saved and ready for use.
